Energynautics publishes results from Designetz project

Article in German specialist journal Netzpraxis 6/2020 on capacity of distribution grids for electric vehicles, heat pumps and photovoltaics.

Decarbonisation requires further expansion of renewable energies as well as sector coupling by electrification of the transport and heating sector. The challenges for distribution grids are especially high as the majority of PV rooftop installations, electric vehicles and heat pumps are installed and operated within the distribution grid.

In contrast to conventional household loads they require significantly more power: thermal overloading of lines and transformers as well as inadmissible deviations in voltage may occur.

Energynautics has conducted a study at EWR Netz GmbH, Worms as part of Designetz project about the hosting capacity of distribution grids for electric vehicles, heat pumps and PV.
