Presentations and Workshop on

PV Rooftop Study and PV Port Concept in India

On the trip that featured a meeting with the regulator in New Delhi, a workshop in Kolkata as well as a meeting with the Indian Energy Regulation Commission, Dr. Eckehard Tröster presented the results of the PV Rooftop Study, commissioned by GIZ – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit. The study comprised an analysis of the technical (grid code), legal and regulatory frameworks in India as well as more detailed technical studies.

Furthermore, Dr. Tröster presented the PV Port Concept, Energynautics developed for GIZ, as well. PV Port is a PV Battery Plug & Play System for domestic use. As power meters in India are designed to count up, even if the power is exported to the grid, the goal of PV Port is to increase own consumption while preventing power export to the grid. Additionally, PV Port ensures line protection. Dr. Tröster presented the technical aspects of the concept with an emphasis on functionality and safety both in New Delhi and Kolkata.
