Technology assessment for promoting state-of-the-art Smart Grid technologies

Back in 2012, Vietnam published a smart grid roadmap which includes different phases for defining the smart grid implementation in the country. Because Vietnam has already begun the transition towards a smart grid, it is important to structure and categorize the projects already implemented in order to work efficiently towards the goal of developing a smart grid.

In order to support this process, Energynautics assessed the current smart grid progress in Vietnam and provided recommendations of technologies that could be applied in further steps to foster renewable energy uptake and efficient grid operation and planning. A wide range of technologies were analysed, including distribution automation systems, smart meters, demand side management and energy storage.
