Energynautics experts on a two-week trip to Vietnam

Dr Thomas Ackermann and Leonard Hülsmann are fresh back from a trip to Vietnam. There, they spent two weeks in workshops and discussions with the Vietnamese grid operator. In one of the workshops, the Energynautics experts gave a keynote speech on the role of digitalisation in the energy sector. They also held a four-day course on the grid integration of solar energy into power grids, addressing solutions for the specific challenges the Vietnamese grid operator is facing. These are largely caused by the current boom in solar energy in Vietnam. Within less than two years, almost 10 GW of solar roof systems have been installed, mainly on industrial and commercial roofs.

The workshops took place as part of a multi-year framework contract with the German development cooperation GIZ as well as the Vietnamese grid operator EVN and the Vietnamese Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority EREA.

The two Energynautics experts were already in Vietnam in August to talk about the increasing importance of cooperation between transmission and distribution grid operators and to provide insights from Europe and other regions around the world.
