IRENA Grid Code Study

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), supported by a consultancy work led by Energynautics, has finalized a study on grid codes and other technical regulations that govern grid connection of generators worldwide. The study illuminates aspects of grid code development with regard to variable renewable energy (VRE) sources namely solar photovoltaic and wind power. This study is part of IRENA activities aiming at supporting policy-makers and regulators, especially in countries with low VRE planning, to significantly increase their VRE share in the power system.
