Grid Integration of Renewables – A Key Enabler of the Energy Transition

Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week 2025: Connecting Experts in Berlin for In-Depth Discussions on the Future of Power Systems

From 6–10 October 2025, the global renewable energy community gathered in Berlin, Germany, for the Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week 2025. Hosted by Energynautics, the event brought together leading researchers, system operators, manufacturers, and policymakers to discuss innovative solutions for integrating renewable energy into modern power systems.

This year’s edition featured two major conferences:

Impressive Participation and Global Reach

With more than 550 participants from over 35 countries, this year’s Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week set a new attendance record — surpassing last year’s strong turnout in Helsinki by over 50 participants. The high level of international engagement once again underlined the event’s importance as a global forum for renewable energy integration, combining scientific exchange with practical insights from industry and academia.

9th E-Mobility Power System Integration Symposium

The E-Mobility Integration Symposium opened this year’s Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week, bringing together over 115 participants for 16 sessions on the latest developments in electric mobility and power system integration.

Presentations from leading organizations such as BMW AG, Honda Europe, Shell, Bayernwerk Netz, Agora Verkehrswende, Octopus Energy Germany, Salzburg Netz GmbH, and the University of Oxford highlighted advances in bidirectional charging, charging infrastructure planning, heavy-duty electrification, and grid code requirements.

24th Wind & Solar Integration Workshop

The Wind & Solar Integration Workshop once again formed the centerpiece of the Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week — and reached a new record attendance. Over four days, more than 435 international experts from over 35 countries came together in Berlin to exchange insights and discuss technical and practical challenges of integrating renewables into modern power systems.

The workshop began with a keynote session featuring Fabian Huneke (Agora Energiewende), Michael Heihsel (TransnetBW), Cornelius Heck (50Hertz Transmission GmbH), and Tobias dos Santos (Bundesnetzagentur), followed by 40+ sessions on grid forming, AI in power systems, blackout analysis, flexibility aspects, hydrogen integration, and ancillary services.

Looking Ahead: Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week 2026 in Porto

After an inspiring and successful week in Berlin, the Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week will continue in Porto, Portugal, from 28 September to 2 October 2026.
Next year’s edition will again feature both the E-Mobility Power System Integration Symposium and the Wind & Solar Integration Workshop, hosted at the Pestana Douro Riverside Hotel & Conference Center.
