3rd International Hybrid Power Systems Workshop

in Tenerife, Spain from 8 – 9 May 2018

The Workshop will focus on the challenges that arise when high shares of renewables (wind, solar, hydro) are integrated into island power systems/micro-grids, in combination with conventional power generators and optionally batteries/flywheels.

The primary objective is to stimulate interdisciplinary thinking between industry and research by providing a platform for discussion and for sharing ideas, practical experiences and knowledge regarding the key issues in the relevant fields.

During the 14 Workshop Sessions, Speakers will explore applications in a variety of locations and operating environments, with a focus on system design, operating experience, business models, economics, and implementation issues.

Besides the high-quality opening session that will focus on grid integration of renewables on the Canary Islands, participants can expect two dedicated sessions on international project experiences e.g. on the Faroe Islands, the Seychelles, the Galapagos Islands, Greenland, Bonaire, and Sri Lanka.

In addition to the regular sessions, the workshop also offers great networking opportunities like the Workshop Dinner on 8 May, poster sessions and a Study Trip. Take a look at the preliminary agenda to get an overview of this year’s program.
