Energynautics engineers deliver training
on power system operation with renewable energy in Indonesia
Commissioned under the Renewable Energy for Electrification Program REEP 1000 Islands by the German Technical Cooperation GIZ, Energynautics engineers Peter-Philipp Schierhorn and Leonard Hülsmann travelled to Indonesia in September 2019 to deliver a one week training workshop for Indonesian utility staff. The training was conducted at the utility’s training center PLN UDIKLAT in Makassar, South Sulawesi, part of PLN Corporate University. Participants included utility staff from operational divisions all over Indonesia as well as the Directorate General of Energy and Mining (DJ EBTKE) and the Directorate General of Electricity (DJ GATRIK).
The workshop included presentations on renewable energy basics, system operation with variable renewable energy, and technical details of renewable and conventional generation as well as practical exercises and visits to Indonesia’s first wind farm at Sidrap (75 MW) and PLN’s dispatch center for South Sulawesi.
