Capacity Building for a Sustainable Power Grid in Bangladesh
Energynautics offers hands-on training for grid operators on integrating renewable energy and battery storage technologies
As part of the Energy Efficiency and Grid Integration of Renewable Energy (EEGIRE) II project, Energynautics conducted two in-depth trainings for professionals in the power system sector of Bangladesh. The EEIGRE II project is implemented by the German development agency Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, in partnership with the Power Division of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources (MPEMR) in Bangladesh. The capacity building initiative marks another step towards an increased integration of decentralized renewable energy sources, in particular of solar power, into Bangladesh’s power system.
Energynautics’ CEO, Dr. Eckehard Tröster, shared his expertise on digitalization, grid integration, and energy storage applications during the two-day training program “Digital Business Transformation with Renewable Energy and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)”. The training program provided participants with valuable knowledge on the digitalization of electricity distribution business functions, different business models for renewable energy and energy storage assets, as well as the integration of renewables and battery storage technologies into the grid.
Energynautics’ second training program focused on power system modeling with PyPSA (Python for Power System Analysis) and brought together professionals from the transmission system operator Power Grid and the Bangladesh Power Development Board. The training equipped participants with advanced knowledge and practical skills in using PyPSA for modelling and simulation of complex grid scenarios in the context of renewable energy integration.
“Digitalization and efficient grid management are key factors for the design of a modern and stable electricity infrastructure. This is where our EEIGRE II capacity building initiative comes in. Energynautics is proud to support grid operators in Bangladesh in their transition towards a sustainable, low-carbon energy system ,” says Dr. Eckehard Tröster, CEO of Energynautics.
